In 2019, the Gault&Millau has 101 Vaud restaurants listed with a total of 1423 points. And 12 restaurants – a total of 17 stars at the famous “Guide Michelin”. At the restaurant “Hôtel de Ville” in Crissier near Lausanne, Franck Giovannini is the fourth celebrity chef in a row to manage the restaurant’s excellent cuisine, proving his success with 19 Gault&Millau points as well as 3 Michelin stars for 2019. He continues in the footsteps of his predecessors Benoît Violier, Philippe Rochat, and Fredy Girardet, adding his focus on regional, healthy, fresh and light dishes.
Thanks to this, Lausanne Great Wine Capitals Region is the capital of Swiss Gastronomy.
Another ambassador is certainly Jérôme Aké Beda, an atypical but – above all – passionate sommelier. Chasselas is his favourite grape variety. So it’s hardly surprising that he feels like a fish in water in St-Saphorin, one of the most beautiful villages of the Lavaux UNESCO vineyards.
