Bodega Casa Vigil
Casa Vigil, the legend of Chachingo
Casa Vigil is located in a beautiful town in the heart of the department of Maipú, Mendoza. This is a winery that offers its visitors a different outing in which wine and literature are combined to give way to a unique wine tourism experience. Alejandro Vigil takes you to the magic world of Dante’s Divine Comedy in his Casa Vigil.
Casa Vigil belongs to the very well-known agronomic engineer Alejandro Vigil. It offers —to locals and visitors- a particular charm originating from the fusion of Maipu’s landscape —a traditional wine region of Mendoza-, innovative architecture and an inviting menu. Each plate is prepared with products from our orchard. The excellently ranked wines are the treasure of the winery where art and history are the pillars of this great sensory experience.
Dante Alighieri’s glorious poem is the conceptual inspiration sensed in every corner of the winery. In the Republic of Chachingo the visitor is offered a tour through Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise with a different pre-established punishment to that of the Italian poet. Here in Maipú visitors are seduced by a blend of flavors and delighted by the whole portfolio of Enemigo wines. Under the eyes of Dante, Virgil and Beatrice, Casa Vigil presents its dishes, which breathe the magic world of the Divine Comedy felt all through the winery. This special winery restaurant offers tourists and locals alike product cuisine, family recipes, plentiful dishes and familiar ambience.
Each solstice brings with it a new menu in which season produce and lunch in a natural environment are protagonists. Lunch and dinner offer different menus. Having dinner is one of a kind experience. In the evening, dinner is served in steps with seven Enemigo wines to pair. This is a joyful moment. Both at lunch and dinner, visitors may wish to pair food and wine at their convenience since all the wines are served from the very beginning. As in life each one of us chooses different pathways, we are our destiny’s masters. The prime objective of this moment is pleasure and then experiencing remote places where flavors take you, such as our childhood or memories of our first kiss. Chachingo is the starting line of a tunnel-filled journey between hell and purgatory ending in heaven with a plentiful meal shared with friends, with our affections or with our true love.
As with wines, Vigil has created a world of wonder, governed by the senses and feelings and where, along with his family, he opens the doors to his life.
The winery’s avant-garde and modern architecture accompany Dante’s story. Three rooms and tunnels take us to the inferno: a unique and charming place full of barrels and art pieces. The journey continues to the purgatory and finishes in paradise where a homemade lunch is awaiting paired with Enemigo wines, which have now become cult wines.
Culture is everywhere in the winery. Musicians, actors, artists, national and international historians come from all over to visit the now referred to “House of Art”. Embellished by its wines, visitors leave the winery adoring Chachingo’s streets, having enjoyed its climate and people, and taking with them a typical picture of Mendoza’s wine region. With each season new artists fill the air with their talent and magic: Scalzi, Cecilia Prato, Nati Sanchez Valdemoros, Osvaldo Chiavaza, Gustavo Copoleta, Laura Rudman, Guillermo Rigattieri, Leandro Pinto, Carlos Obregón and TachuelaDelía. Casa Vigil becomes not only an art gallery displaying truly Mendocinean artists, but also a place to meet friends appealed by colors and shapes.
Alejandro Vigil together with his wife, MaríaSance, is brewing a legend, a passionate place no tourist wants to miss. Casa Vigil is already a legend. It’s located in Chachingo, in Maipú, in Mendoza. Just come and visit. Since May 2017, its restaurant is number 1 in Trip Advisor.
