Between the 10th and 15th of April 2017, we enjoyed the first edition of the “Week of Rock”, an idea that came about by the hand of the well-known enologist of the winery Monteviejo, Marcelo Pelleriti, along with Leandro Livschitz, General Manager of Park Hyatt Mendoza.
It was declared of Interest for the National Tourism by the Ministry of Tourism of the Nation, evidence of the magnitude of this meeting that made present a touristic option of various events putting together the Art, Wine, Gastronomy and Music, over six unforgettable days in the province of Mendoza.
Experience Day 1. “Plus+ Arte” in Park Hyatt Mendoza – Celeste Urreaga exhibited her photographic work of successful Argentine musicians under the name “Portraits of Rock”. With this same spirit, she presented in Uvas Lounge and Bar, at Park Hyatt Mendoza, a preview of her work, in which Celeste’s vision of the Wine Rock festival was captured. Also, she exhibited the collection of “Wines of the Rock Artist” at Grill Q Restaurant. Both could be visited at Park Hyatt Mendoza.
Also, was presented and launched “Canciones Dibujadas”, an audiovisual project of music and illustrations by the well-known Argentine illustrator Tute.
Experience Day 2. Masters of food and Wine – Rock Edition, Masters of Food & Wine is a global encounter that was created in Park Hyatt Mendoza in early 2000 and now is being held in all Park Hyatt of the world. This wine and gastronomy event brought the 20 most recognized “Chefs of Rock” and 25 emblematic mendocinian wineries. Chefs inspired their food and dishes on many rock icons, where flavors were transformed to the rhythm of the perfect pairing. There was an Acoustic Rock Show of Rock celebrity to close the event.
Experience Day 3. Wines of the Rock Artists. The recongnized winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti presented the wines produced for different rock artists at the Grill Q Restaurant of the Hyatt. People, tourists and locals could taste the wines and talk with the musicians.
Experience Day 4. Meet and Greet. It was a night of conversations, between rock artists and the public that allowed them to better get to know their experiences and anecdotes at Park Hyatt Mendoza.
Experience Day 5. Plus + Art and Monteviejo Winery. The second part of Plus + Art, this time at the Monteviejo Winery. Many activities were concentrated on diverse cultural expressions throughout the year from the Art and Culture area, with the Monteviejo Winery and Reincarnations coproducing. Artistic Experimentation. Through the years, there was an accessible space for giving information and communicating activities realized between the Monteviejo Winery, Wine Institute, the Association of the Deaf of Mendoza, and Topos: Accessible Culture. Among some of the actions oriented this way, the visitors could see all the works and experiences with interpreters in Sign Language and audio guides for the blind.
Experience Day 6. Wine Rock. A large stage placed inside the vineyard at Monteviejo Winery, with the Andes Mountains behind, like a photo booth backdrop, convoked year after year hundreds of people that go to the festival that fuses rock, wine, and gastronomy, on the stunning view that the mendocinian mountains gives us. The seventh edition brought together more than 1,600 people. The groups that played music were Los Enanitos Verdes, Catupecu Machu, Jaime Torres, Coti Sorokin, Kevin Johansen, Rano Sarbach, Los Pericos, Cuarto Espacio y The Cellars, Paula Neder, Seba Garay, and Maluko.
