One of the few active historic passenger railroads in the United States, the Napa Valley Wine Train offers an engaging and memorable experience that echoes the glory days of train travel, with fine dining service, multi-course meals, Napa scenery and ultimate relaxation aboard exquisitely restored antique rail cars. Conveniently located in downtown Napa and easily accessible, they offer a car-free transportation option that bring guests from SF to Napa Valley via the San Francisco Bay Ferry.
The Napa Valley Wine Train shines as one of the most distinctive restaurants in the Napa Valley, as guests are welcome to view Executive Chef Donald Young and his culinary team at work in the kitchen car, preparing multi-course gourmet meals cooked to order. Young’s gourmet lunch and dinner menus feature local, seasonal menu items prepared on board for a truly unique experience. He and his team source the highest-quality products and cultivate strong partnerships with local and regional purveyors of fresh, sustainable food and beverage products.
Passengers are given a welcome taste of wine from the train’s Private Label wine, which is bottled by Raymond Vineyards from their reserve selection. The Napa Valley Wine Train also offers an award-winning wine list featuring local wines from many of the renowned wineries along the historic train tracks. An in-station Wine Store is also located in the train station with a large selection of wines available for purchase.
As an active member of the Napa Valley community, the Napa Valley Wine Train has partnered with many of the prominent wineries along the historic train track, including Grgich Hills Estate and V. Sattui Winery.
