This beautiful estate is complemented by the award-winning wines which it produces. Previously planted vineyards are now coming into full maturity, which will herald even more awards for these sought-after wines.

The historic farm was granted to Adriaan van der Stel on 1 February 1700 and today is characterised by a magical atmosphere with historic camphor trees, an octagonal garden and stately homestead.

The estate produces 65 000 cases of wine, which includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Vin de Florence, Chardonnay Reserve, Mill Race Red (Cabernet-Merlot), and Merlot.

Morgenster Estate

Well-known for its olive oil, the Morgenster estate bottled its first vintage in 1998. Winemaker, Marius Lategan has been in residence at Morgenster since 1999.

The historic farm was associated with olive oil for the past few years before being bought by present owner Giulio Bertrand. This prestigious estate is in the process of constructing a new state-of-the-art cellar.

Morgenster produces 1 000 cases of wine, which includes Lourens River Valley Sauvignon Blanc, and Morgenster (red blend).

Eikendal Estate

Eikendal's vineyards flourish in a climate (mountain and maritime micro-climate) which is ideal for the production of quality wines. Situated in the foothills of the Helderberg range, the farm straddles both the Stellenbosch and Helderberg wine routes.

The farm's striking barrel-vaulted cellar, completed in 1984, was among the first in the Cape to combine traditional and modern elements, creating a new South African style of winery architecture. New wine fermentation tanks were recently installed to extend the red wine range.

Eiekendal produces 30,000 cases of wine. The wide range of wines includes Blanc de Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Stein, Special Late Harvest, Brut Sparkling, Demi-Sec Sparkling, Cap Classique Brut, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, Merlot, Classique, Rouge, and Pinot Noir
