The 2020 Best Of Wine Tourism people's choice award goes to ... The Wine House Hotel - Quinta da Pacheca in beautiful Douro Valley (Porto)


The prizes that take place in the main wine regions of the world were awarded in the Cultural Hall last September. The gold winners of the different categories participated in the international awards in Bordeaux in November this year.
 

Porto has announced its Best of Wine Tourism 2020 winners, last June, during the closing dinner of the interim meeting of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

Earlier this month, Bordeaux celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Great Wine Capitals. It was quite the party, with 22 Best Of Wine winners just from Bordeaux. 

Wine tourism is a relatively recent activity for companies in the Rioja region, dating from the 1990s. Today however, more than one hundred wineries entertain tourists with an ever-increasing range of innovative activities.

Bodegas Valdemar in Oyón and  the Villa Lucía museum in Laguardia have worked together to raise the bar even higher by becoming the first wine-related businesses in Rioja to develop an extensive all-inclusive program allowing people with disabilities to learn about wine, its history, and the winemaking process without physical, visual or auditory limitations.

This effort recently earned them a 2020 International 'Best Of Wine Tourism' award.
