The winery GUT LEBEN am Morstein brings home the Best-of-Global Award! 8 November 2018 marked the ceremony of The Global Best of Wine Tourism Awards which took place in the context of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Great Wine Capitals network in the Botanical Gardens of Adelaide. German honorary consul Potter, department head of winegrowing and economy Christopher Sitte and Thomas Schätzel, chairman of Rheinhessenwein e.V., accepted the award on behalf of the laureate.
In the context of the regional competition of the Best of Wine Tourism Awards for Mainz|Rheinhessen, the laureate GUT LEBEN am Morstein, was already able to score in two categories in the same year: The regional Best Of Wine Tourism Award 2019 in "Wine Gastronomy" as well as in "Art & Culture" went to the operators of the winegrower's villa, awoken from the Sleeping Beauty Castle. The event gastronomy and conference location with a hotel has enriched cultural life in the region since November 2017. Culture and events at the highest level attract visitors to the vaulted cellars. Selected artists of various genres such as Lars Reichow, Quadro Nuevo, Wolfgang Haffner and the Aris Quartet are guests here. An exceptional, spacious tunnel vault - the former wine cellar - with excellent acoustics and space for 250 guests creates unforgettable experiences. The enjoyment of art completes a rich offer of fine wines from Rheinhessen (www.am-morstein.de).
As a chairperson of the regional jury, District Councilor Dorothea Schäfer (Mainz-Bingen district) says about the Mainz|Rheinhessen area: „Winegrowers get together, offer escape-rooms and turn their guests into wine spies. Accommodations design the hotel rooms in the style of the wine region and cooperate with the local winegrowers. Modern wine experience buildings emerge - historic ones are kissed out of their slumber. Behind all are clever, integrated concepts that not only fit perfectly into the Rheinhessen region, but also live it. This dynamic excites us - as a jury, and certainly also the many tourists and guests of our region as well as the locals themselves!"
