The  Geelong  Vineyards

The region’s wine history began over 150 years ago, and thrived until various economic factors wiped out the vineyards in the 1870s and 80s.

Now the 50 or so scattered wineries of the area produce a diverse range of subtle and elegant wines.

The wineries listed here from this region were winners of the Best Of Wine Tourism awards.

Pettavel Winery and Restaurant

A broad driveway leads to an imposing, contemporary winery/restaurant complex surrounded by a vineyard. From there you can look across the broad landscape that was once the heart of the Geelong vignoble while enjoying great food or tasting the estate's range of regional wines. As one would expect from a Geelong winery, complex Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are stand-outs in a large range of well-made wines. This property promises to become a real focal point for regional gastronomy.
