The Goulburn Valley Vineyards

The Goulburn Valley is a huge area stretching from Seymour in Central Victoria up to Echuca on the Murray River, its warm climate proving ideal for growing Rhone varietals. This big old region probably owes its very existence to the presence of the famous Tahbilk Winery on the banks of the Goulburn River at Nagambie.

The wineries listed here from this region were winners of the Best Of Wine Tourism awards.

Tahbilk Winery

Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia's most beautiful and historic wineries - you can 'step back in time' with the Cellar Door and surrounding Winery buildings not greatly changed from their original state.

In August 2005, this experience was complemented with the opening of the Tahbilk Wetlands and Wildlife Reserve and Wetlands Cafe. Visitors can now enjoy the contrasting contemporary offerings of the Wetlands Cafe - gourmet cafe cuisine, Tahbilk and Dalfarras wines and gallery exhibitions - before choosing to walk the pathways and boardwalks of the Wetlands and Wildlife Reserve or cruise on dedicated Wetlands boats.
