If you are visiting Mendoza between March and May, you may well be able to participate in the harvest activities. Grape stomping is just as fun for adults as it is for children! The Vines of Mendoza, Zuccardi and Norton all offer harvest activities during the autumn months.
Cycling between the vines
The wine bike tour is a classic in Mendoza and it can be a good way to keep the children entertained between winery stops. There are numerous bike rentals in Maipú, Lujan and Chacras where you can tour yourself or ask for a bicycle guide. If you are a fan of bicipolo, or fancy giving it a go, try out Bodega Gascon’s experience.
Wine country by horseback
If cycling feels like too much pedal power, how about exploring on horseback? Argentina is renowned for its sturdy horses which are easy to ride even if it is your first time. A horseback ride through the vineyards of Nieto Senetiner followed by a tasting tour and lunch is sure to make everyone keen for siesta time!
During the weeks of Vendimia celebration (Feb and March) there are a host of activities on offer which combine wine with quality family time. Between music festivals, kids entertainment, parades, fireworks and theatre shows - you’ll be hard pressed to choose what to do!
