On the occasion of Vinexpo 2015, the Great Wine Capitals Global Network and the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be hosting a conference with the objective to give an overview of the various wine tourism activities and performances in the Networks member regions.

From May 23rd to July 4th, Porto will be celebrating S. João.
Six weeks of fun with more than 200 events, from concerts and music festivals, dances and theatre, to popular parades, competitions, runs, regattas, balloon launching, enthusing all who discover and participate on this party.

Opininated About Dining (OAD), the world's leading restaurant rating agency, has recently named Resturante Azurmendi, located in Larrabetzu, near Bilbao, in the 4th edition of "The 100 Best Restaurants in Europe".

Azurmendi, owned by chef Eneko Atxa, has three Michelin stars. The restaurant was honored with a "Best OF Wine Tourism" award in the restaurant category in 2007 by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

Next week the weekend has an extra day owing to the Friday’s holiday (Labor Day). This will be a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a short vacation and gather some extra energy until summer.

The Porto Marathon is becoming international. After Corunna, Madrid, Seville and Barcelona, it is now the moment to spread the Porto Marathon in Paris gathering more participants to the Porto race. The Porto Marathon will take place on 8 November and registrations are already open.

In November, the Great Wine Capitals Global Network will hold its Annual General Meeting in Rioja and Bilbao.

Part of the Network is the Bilbao | Rioja Committee, made up of the Chambers of Commerce of Álava, Bilbao and La Rioja, the Bilbao City Hall and the Grupo Rioja.

From November 8 through 12, Bilbao | Rioja will host the Network’s Annual General Meeting with a range of activities related to the world of wine.
