Bodegas Franco-Españolas, winner of a ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ award in 2012 for Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences, continues to delight wine tourists with its program of ‘enoactivities’ at the winery.

McLaren Vale’s exciting 2016 vintage has drawn to an end, with the region’s vineyards ready for pruning. The 2016 vintage has been heralded by many as ‘one of the greatest vintages in McLaren Vale’s history,’ with reports from winemakers and grape growers alike.

The Bordeaux Wine Festival will return in 2016, during 4 days, from the 23rd to the 26th of June. This event, which occurs every other year, gathers wine producers of the entire region, from different appellations such as Bordeaux, Cadillac, Saint-Emilion or Margaux.

Douro is not just about the big names in wine. Discovering the whole of the region is the idea behind the 2016 Douro Fair which will take place on the weekend of 25 and 26 June at the Quinta de Nápoles (Niepoort). 

The Great Wine Capitals pavilion will feature tourist information about each member city and wine region as well as daily contests to measure visitors’ knowledge about wine and great wine capitals’ regions, with an attractive range of prizes for the winners.

June 16:     Les vacances de Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati)

June 23:     À bout de souffle (Jean-Luc Godard)

June 30:     La nuit américaine (François Truffaut)

July 7:        La Isla bonita (Fernando Colomo)

Each session will feature an introduction to the film and a music show by disc jockey Maldeamores DJ.

South Australian wineries recently won four gold medals at the Concours International des Cabernets, held in April 2016 in Paris, including World’s Best Cabernet from McLaren Vale’s Penny’s Hill winery.
