Welcome to Hotel California – you can check out any time you want, but you can never leave.

Well – you can leave, but you would never want to.

Since visiting Hotel California Road I have had that Eagles’ song stuck in my head. But, apart from the name, there is no connection to be made between the slightly dark and broody lyrics in Hotel California and the beautiful luxury micro hotel ran by Dudley and Irina from Inkwell Wines. Well that, and the fact that I would just like to live here and… never leave.

Looking for something unique to do in wine country? A once in a lifetime experience that will make your family and friends green with envy. Look no further: the Henschke and Hutton Vale Farm Ultimate Authentic Barossa Experience.

In my opinion you will never get enough of the gently rolling hills of McLaren Vale, but if you are looking to offer your eyes a bit more excitement the winner for the Best of International Wine Tourism has got you covered! The d’Arenberg Cube will have you lapping up the big picture, while needing time to soak up all the amazing details, too.

Actually, the d’Arenberg Cube is a 2018 winner in two categories: International Best Wine Tourism, and – of course – Architecture and Landscape. Although the Cube is a new and unexpected addition for the region since last year, it is not an unexpected winner in these categories. A building made entirely out of glass, shaped like a Rubik’s cube, which surprisingly enough seems to really fit in the Mourvèdre vineyard surrounding it – that is a feat we all need to take a closer look at.

The holiday season is the perfect time for visitors from the northern climes to visit South Australia—remember, it’s summer here! Welcome the New Year with bountiful barbecues, seafood feasts, and days for venturing from sunny beaches to surprisingly cool-climate high-altitude wineries, like Deviation Road, where some of our favorite sparklers are made.

Nothing is more Christmassy ‘down under’ in South Australia than a barbeque on the beach in the sunshine, and glass of South Australia’s finest wine, of course! Here are some top tips for how to soak up the Christmas cheer in South Australia this festive season.

Drink As the weather warms up it's the perfect time to introduce you to Frozen Pink Moscato. Simply blend Banrock Station Pink Moscato, Raspberries, Lemonade & ice. Our pleasure!

McLaren Vale's d'Arenberg has been awarded the coveted ‘International Best of Wine Tourism Award' for Architecture and Landscape, with the Cube recognised for its bespoke structure and design.

The international ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ awards were announced during a gala dinner at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens on November 8. The ceremony marked the end of the 2018 Annual General Meeting of the Great Wine Capitals in Adelaide, South Australia.

For Pam and Tony Barich of Whistling Kite Vineyards in South Australia’s Riverland district, the answer to creating a sustainable and healthy future are organics and biodynamics.

Elderton Wines

Visiting Elderton Cellar Door is quintessential to experiencing the lifestyle and rich culture of the Barossa and provides visitors with unique food and wine experiences designed to showcase the provenance and distinctive character of their wines.

In 2017 the Ashmead family invested $1 million to complete a sensitive renovation and restoration of the 1918–built gentleman’s bungalow, creating a new luxury wine destination. With five private tasting rooms and spaces, the Cellar Door can accommodate from two to 50 guests.
