‘Experiences’ are the key to wine tourism success stories

On November 12, Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum was the scene of the 2016 international  ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ awards ceremony sponsored by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.  The ceremony took place during the gala dinner that marked the end of the Network’s annual general meeting.

With just a few months to go until it opens to the public in June 2016, La Cité du Vin has unveiled its new identity. It was more than a change of name that was revealed at the evening organised on 26 October at Bordeaux City Hall for financial backers, patrons, partners and all those who have been close to the project since 2009: an eye-catching signature, a logo and the graphic design to go with the new name.

Château Carbonnieux

~~The remarkable architecture of Château Carbonnieux is the hallmark of one of the largest and oldest vineyards of the Bordeaux region. Founded in the 13th century by the Benedictine monks of Sainte-Croix Abbey, the estate, located on a high point of Léognan, overlooks the 95-hectare vineyard with its four large towers. Its Perigord-style architecture, quite rare in this region, hides a splendid courtyard in the heart of its fortified walls. Some personalities have left their mark here… Visitors are invited to trace the footsteps of Thomas Jefferson…
