The 5th annual Wine & Food Tourism Conference is to be held on Wednesday 2 December 2020, at Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate as a virtual / hybrid event.
“THE NEXT DECADE: WINE INDUSTRY SALES & SUSTAINABILITY”
Africa Melane will lead the programme, which includes headline speakers Paul Mabray, powerhouse wine strategist and futurist from California, Miles Kubheka, well known South African entrepreneur, and Tim Harris of conference headline sponsor, WESGRO.
Paul Mabray’s topic is “The Way Forward Now: How Wineries need to Steal from Silicon Valley to Survive & Succeed in tomorrow’s Wine Market” while Miles Kubheka will challenge delegates to Pivot and Re-Build.
Bringing an international perspective to the conference, we have wine personalities Romanella Paggi from Mendoza, Catherine Leparmentier from Bordeaux and Petra Mayer, from Germany, presenting online.
Vinpro’s Marisah Nieuwoudt will be looking at building blocks for the wine industry while Andre Morgenthal, Trizanne Barnard and Diony Lalieu will unpack how wineries can leverage sustainability to their marketing advantage. Kevin Campbell, from sponsor Delta Airlines will be outlining how they have changed their business health and safety protocols and what we can learn from this in order to keep visitors safe.
Local trend specialist Peter Greenwall will share his thoughts on disrupting the SA Wine and Hospitality business. WWF-SA speaker Shelly Fuller will discuss sustainability in wine tourism. Jean-Pierre Rossouw, Chairman of the Wine and Food Tourism Awards, will highlight the exceptional work being done by awards honourees for 2020.
A tasting of the Agulhas Triangle wines will be presented at the conference and are also available to virtual delegates as an optional extra.
