Job description:

Are you a team player who is passionate about wine and speaks at least two languages, with great interpersonal and sales skills? Join Quinta do Tedo’s team to share a family-owned, organic winery’s vision and award-winning Ports, Douro DOC wines and olive oil with international visitors in the heart of Douro Valley.

Responsibilities:

● Communicate with and schedule visits for Quinta do Tedo’s B&B guests, private visitors and tourism partners via phone, email and partner platforms (i.e. Get Your Guide and Portugal By Wine)
● Welcome and guide groups of 1-20+ visitors through Quinta do Tedo’s tours, tastings, wine and food pairings and other enotourism experiences
● Highlight Quinta do Tedo’s unique history, brand values and fine products through personable and educational enotourism experiences with 20-to-80+-year-old international visitors
● Incentivize on-site sales (especially of Quinta do Tedo’s premium products and services) and monthly newsletter sign-ups
● Guide visitors and customers through their purchasing process via Quinta do Tedo’s traditional order form, eShop, email or telephone
● Set and clear tables for tasting flights, cheese boards and other special tastings
● Wash, dry and restock wine glasses throughout the day
● Keep the tasting room clean and organized throughout the day
● Prepare orders to ship to domestic and international importers and private customers
● Attend and participate in occasional team meetings
● Collaborate with and help other tasting room staff members and tour guides
● Assist Quinta do Tedo’s Marketing Manager in generating social media content
● Report to Quinta do Tedo’s Tourism Director and General Manager

Skills:

● Professional with proven experience and training in the area
● Fluent reading, writing and speaking in at least two of these languages: English, Portuguese,
French, Spanish, German, Dutch
● Knowledge and/or willingness to learn more about
● basic history, culture and practices regarding viticulture and oenology
● Port and Douro DOC wine production methods
● Douro Valley wine region
● our French-American Bouchard family-owned Quinta do Tedo’s traditional, innovative
and sustainable values and practices
● Ability to captivate, inform and answer questions in a personable and professional manner for
small to large groups during 45-minute tours and tastings
● Wine service etiquette (i.e. opening, serving, storing)
● Basic digital skills (i.e. checking and answering emails, phone calls, and social media; printing
documents, processing orders and various forms of payment; ability to take high-quality photos
of food and drink to share with Marketing Manager on a weekly basis)
● Clean and presentable appearance
● Strong ability to work under pressure while maintaining great customer service and consistent
consistent tour and tasting quality standards
● High sense of responsibility, autonomy and professional ethics
● Organized and on-time
● Respectful, helpful and communicative with colleagues

Compensation:

● Monthly stipend or salary to be discussed with Quinta do Tedo’s management team
● 30% discount on Quinta do Tedo products

● Workday lunches

Duration:

● Minimum 3 months full-time, but preferably 6 months with the potential to extend
