The University of Adelaide
The 18 wines regions of Adelaide, South Australia are home to over 50% of Australia’s wine grape production, and over 80% of Australia’s premium wines are produced in South Australia. It’s no wonder that the University of Adelaide is the most renowned school for winemakers and viticulturists in Australia.
Learning takes place at the Waite Campus, located 7km from the city centre, which is home to a fully operation winery and world-class laboratory as well as a teaching vineyard, all of which makes transitioning from the classroom to practical study a breeze.
Students can apply to study a bachelor of Bachelor of Viticulture and Oenology. This is a four-year course designed to take you from wine novice to industry-ready and qualified in both viticulture and winemaking.
Interested students can also apply to complete a further year of study to achieve their Honours qualifications, giving them a competitive edge in the job market or an important foundation for post graduate research.
The University of Adelaide has wine-focussed, business-minded students covered too, with a range of courses designed to fill the needs of the local, national and international wine industries. Students can study for a Graduate Certificate in Wine Business, a Graduate Diploma in Wine Business, and a Master of Wine Business. All of these courses are offered at the University’s North Terrace campus, right in the heart of Adelaide’s central business district.
