The number of foreigners who visited the Essência do Vinho Porto 2015 increased in 4%, representing around 26% of the total number of visitors who, on this edition, reached 23 700. This scenario could not be more positive for Wine Tourism, a sector that on 27 February saw its efforts rewarded on another edition of the Best Of Wine Tourism Awards 2015, an initiative by the Great Wine Capitals Network, in which the Porto City Council represents the wine regions of Port and Dour Wines and of the “Vinhos Verdes”.
The ceremony hosted 80 guests and 17 international journalists, being the Porto City Council represented by the City Councilor Sampaio Pimentel. The Gala dinner took place at the restaurant Vinum at Graham’s, regional winner 2014 in the category of “Wine Tourism Restaurants”.
The winners of the Best Of Wine Tourism 2015 excellence awards are:

Adega Quinta da Faísca – regional winner in the category “Architecture & Landscape”
BOEIRA Portugal in a bottle - regional winner in the category “Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences”
Conceitus Winery Restaurant - regional winner in the category of “Wine Tourism Restaurants”
Graham’s 1890 Lodge - regional winner in the category of “Wine Tourism Services”
Quinta das Escomoeiras – regional winner in the category “Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices”
The Wine House Hotel - Quinta da Pacheca - regional winner in the category of “Accommodation”
