Springtime in Bordeaux is the perfect season for wine lovers to discover the very places where their favourite beverage is produced.
Indeed, during the April and May weekends, hundreds of châteaux open their properties to the visitors and offer free tours and tastings. People can go and visit the premises and cellars, understand the wine production process but also meet the winemakers and share their passion.
Several events already took place this year, e.g. Printemps des Châteaux (open days in the Médoc appellation), Printemps des Vins de Blaye (Blaye appellation) but some are still to come:
April 25th- 26th: Portes Ouvertes in Lalande de Pomerol
May 1st – 3rd: Portes Ouvertes in Saint Emilion
May 9th- 10th: Portes Ouvertes in the Côtes de Bourg appellation
Those events are always a big success and attract thousands of visitors in the Bordeaux vineyards. Don’t hesitate to come over and to enjoy this golden opportunity to taste the specificity of each local “terroir”!
The next busy period for open houses will start again in Fall 2015…
