In Mainz/Rheinhessen there are many wineries and bars, where you can meet and enjoy a glass of wine. Most of these listed locations have received the Best Of Wine Tourism Award by providing an innovative wine tourism concept.
1. Laurenz - Weinbar, Restaurant, Vinothek
With an extensive wine list and seasonal menu, Laurenz is the perfect place to enjoy a fine meal and great wine from one of the selected regional wine makers in a stylish atmosphere. The tantalizing range of dishes includes special meals such as tagiatelle with coconut milk-lemonpepper- sauce, red onions, grilled broccoli and sesame and Pork Belly with, beans, bacon, apricot, old balsamic, and sweet potato. The on site wine shop allows guests to purchase wines at the same retail price as the wineries with no additional mark-up.

2. The old 100 Guldenmill
The guests are met at the mill's weir, bench, chair and flowers are carefully and romantically arranged under the small roof. A path winds down to the entrance of the former flour mill, a small door within allows the view into the grinding station. "We are in the center of good wine", Eppard says. Appenheim is filled with excellent wineries, the famous names are on the wine list in her restaurant. The young lady runs one of the best restaurants of the region and she sets a unique pace in terms of regional cooking and sustainability.

3. Winery Eva Vollmer
The Winery Dr. Eva Vollmer in Mainz-Ebersheim offers unique laid-back wine-lingerings along with splendid wines and new radical ideas. "Laid-back wine-lingering", Eva calls these events. On the 8.000 square meter big lawn in the winery`s backyard events such as wine picnics, wine and yoga, or blind wine tastings in the dark create new opportunities for any kind of taste to experience the wines of Rheinhessen in their place of origin.

4.mundart Restaurant , Saulheim
In the old part of Nieder-Saulheim the restaurant is located in a protected homestead harmonically matching the historical structure of the village.
The focus on wine is guaranteed by the 80 sparkling wine and wine positions, a third of which is changed every three months to offer maximum variety. The gastronomical offer is completed by German cuisine with French elements.

5. Landhotel im Klostereck
The hotel, run by the winemaker family Strubel-Roos, is right in the center of Flonheim and it is characterised by its variety of different buildings: the main building, a modern new build and a historical day worker house. The wine oriented character of the 23-room hotel, which is certified by DEHOGA with three stars superior, appears everywhere: Wine and sparkling wine tastings with their own wines in the Sparkling Wine Lounge or Wine Bistro where guests can also enjoy homemade cakes and tarts made by daughter Veronika.

6. Winery Wasem
The winery, family-run since 1726, is located in Ingelheim, Rheinhessen. The property is seperated into a hotel, a restaurant and a monastery. It is great to see how the traditional and the modern aspects of winemaking go hand in hand. The two young winemakers Julius and Philipp Wasem produce wines that are simply fun. From fresh light white wine to garnet Pinot Noir. It is definitely worth a trip.
On every first Thursday of the month, from April to October, After Work Meetings are taking place in the wine barn or on the backyard of the winery. They begin at five o´clock.
