We are very glad to announce that Bordeaux, one of the Great Wine Capitals, has been elected 2015 European Best Destination!
Bordeaux has always been a dynamic, cosmopolitan city and never ceases to reveal exciting, new facets of its character. The city of Bordeaux’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 and its bold modernism have made it a key destination for everyone interested in French culture, lifestyle... and wine!
A group of winemakers from Rheinhessen recently visited Rioja to learn about viticulture and winemaking in our region as well as the control procedures created by the Rioja Regulatory Council.
While in the Rioja region, the group visited Bodegas Franco-Españolas, Bodegas Campo Viejo, Bodegas R. López de Heredia, the Vivanco Wine Museum and Hospedería Los Parajes. All of these properties have been winners of a ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ award. Other stops were at Bodegas Lecea and Bodegas Artuke.
With Valentine’s Day on 14th February immediately followed by Carnival on the 17th, Porto offers this year a wide choice of special programmes, from accommodation, to gastronomy & wines, history & culture, adventure, tours, and lots of entertainment.
27th January, The International Port Wine Day, was created in 2012 by the Center for Wine Origins (Washington), an institution founded by IVDP and CIVC (Champagne). To celebrate this date the Real Companhia Velha has launched a new reference for this famous nectar, the ‘Quinta das Carvalhas Reserva Ruby’ and refreshed the image of the ‘Quinta das Carvalhas Reserva Tawny’.
