Corte Canella is a family winery founded by Adriana and Francesco (2009) with passion and enthusiasm in Illasi, on the Eastern hills of Verona, and this is also the place where their daughters Veronica and Gloria are born, among wines releasing inebriating fragrances and aromas.
To be a family company is not always easy! But the strength of these sisters can be well summarized in their diversity, allowing them to grow up and to play different roles in their winery.
Veronica started to work in Corte Cannella with her father in 2009, focusing on winemaking and on the promotion of wine. Gloria joined the company after 4 years, in support of Veronica, dealing with accounting and social marketing.
The result of their efforts is a niche production, both in quality and in the quantity of bottles produced, that barely reaches 30 000 units. They also choose to limit range of wines - Soave, Valpolicella, Amarone and Recioto - in order to remain authentic and strongly related to the sensorial elements of their territory.
Moving towards the hills of Calmasino di Bardolino, just 2 km away from Garda Lake, Tenuta La Cà tells a completely different story: the two brothers Aldo (25 years old) and Pietro (27) do not have behind them a family business carried out by generations.
Wine passion and “the falling in love” with their land are the only key driving forces supporting the creation and the development of Tenuta La Cà. Aldo and Pietro Gamberini have chosen to transform their parents’ land into a real venture.
Their young age and past professional experiences in different dynamic economic sectors have contributed to reinforce their eagerness to innovate and create always something new.
In this view Tenuta La Cà has several potentialities: with 11 grape varieties and 5 different soil types, it is compulsory to have clear business vision. The lack of a specific oenological background is filled by their “learning by doing”, with the support of competent advisors, who however step back from the corporate dealings. The whole process is organic and certified. The production chain is very short, as the furthest vineyard is just 600 meters from the cellar where a precision winemaking is carried out.
At the end traditions are nothing less than successful innovations, while respecting the rules.
