Vaud Open Wine Cellars, the Swiss wine-production event in the heart of the terroir that’s too good to miss

Switzerland’s biggest oenological event,” no less. That’s how the vine-growing professionals introduce Vaud Open Wine Cellars which, proving increasingly successful from year to year, have just been held for the ninth time.

Today, the event has a unifying effect beyond its organising team, the Office des Vins Vaudois, and gathers within it the Vaud Canton Tourist Office, Vaud Terroir and local wine growers to work on promoting local speciality products, something new in this event

This year, there were tasting selection baskets to go with discoveries of great vintages for more than 90,000 visitors. Vaud slicing sausage PGI, shavings of Etivaz PDO cheese, Gruyère PDO and other surprises were the order of the day.

Since last year, the event, spread over the whole of the canton of Vaud, has benefited from a dedicated app available on Apple and Android, which makes the visiting routes much easier thanks to its interactive geolocation map, meeting the new expectations and standards of wine tourism activities.

Thus, Vaud Open Wine Cellars offer a very special fun and friendly occasion to get together around wine-growing products of the canton, consisting of great vintages and fine discoveries, allowing the wine growers to demonstrate their know-how to enthusiastic and informed wine lovers. The particular promotion of local speciality products and produce this year enriched the experience considerably, to the great delight of our visitors.
