As of March 2020, the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19) disease has been declared a Public Health Concern and slowed down sharply the Economy. The current situation has forced companies to be creative and sometime even disruptive in order to withstand on the long run. Swiss wineries are a perfect example as they are very proactive on social media and propose contest, wine quizzes, online wine tasting, set digital appointment to drink a glass of swiss wine all together and show insights of their daily life because Mother nature doesn’t rest.
Swiss Wine Promotion (SWP) has also taken several actions to maintain and strengthen its support to Swiss winegrowers. In addition to the actions carried out throughout the year with its partners, SWP has been publishing, on its social media, several targeted content to remind consumers to support their local winegrowers now and to do so all year long. Its digital platforms have also been an opportunity to display winergowers’ activities.
Social media are platforms which allow to carry a meaningful message. Therefore, a specific Facebook sticker for your profil pictures has been created in French, German and Italian: “#stayhome the winegrowers are delivering at your home”. Finally, the six wine-growing regions and Swiss Wine Promotion have worked together to set up a website that groups together all the winegrowers who deliver to swiss homes. Now, no more excuses, just sit down on your couch and order swiss wines, of course !
