Rioja’s climate is shaped by its position in the Ebro River valley, between the Cantabrian Mountains to the north and the Demanda and Cameros ranges to the south. Within this relatively compact territory, changing air flows, rainfall patterns, sunlight and elevation create a mosaic of vineyard conditions across Rioja Alta, Rioja Alavesa and Rioja Oriental.
