Chandre Honeth

Dr Chandré Honeth is a lecturer and researcher in viticulture at the Eastern Institute of Technology – Te Pūkenga, New Zealand. After completing a PhD in Viticulture at the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) were she investigated the influence of UVB radiation of berry metabolites in Sauvignon blanc grapes, she moved to New Zealand to take up her current role. Chandré’s current research specialises in grapevine physiology, looking to improve the productivity and quality of Hawke’s Bay’s premier cultivars. She also supervises a number of student research projects in collaboration with local growers to help address specific problems relevant to the industry. She has a keen interest in vineyard sustainability and collaborates with industry partners to investigate and implement environmentally conscious practices.
