Natura Resorts, located in Casalarreina, near Haro, is the Rioja region’s sole resort: 58,000 square meters with fully accessible villas, a gourmet restaurant and tapas bar, outdoor pool, paddle tennis courts and a staff devoted to creating exciting experiences for guests visiting Rioja.
Natura received a 2025 regional Best Of Wine Tourism award for Bilbao-Rioja for Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences.
Forty Villas designed for diverse groups
Today’s travelers seek comfort and relaxation. Each Natura Resorts villa caters to these needs with amenities that make one feel at home: a living/dining room, king-sized beds, a fully equipped kitchen, a minibar stocked with wines from Rioja, eco-friendly toiletries, a private porch and garden, a large screen TV, individual climate control and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower.
- Family villas (54 m2), as their name suggests, cater to families. They feature two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a smaller bed plus bunk beds.
- Accessibility villas (70 m2), in addition to the amenities of the other villas, are custom built, with specially adapted features for persons with reduced mobility.
- Suites (54m2) are specially designed for one or two couples, with two bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed.
Gastronomy
The Otium restaurant is open to resort guests and the public seven days a week for lunch and dinner (and for breakfast for villa guests). The produce and the cuisine are northern Spanish with a modern touch. You can order an Executive menu that changes every day, à la carte from the Gastronomic menu featuring several trompe l’oeil creations from the ‘Nothing is what it seems’ section, or a casual meal featuring tapas (small plates).
Otium has a well-stocked wine cellar, featuring wines from Rioja.
The restaurant is open for lunch from 1:30 to 3:30pm and for dinner from 8:00 to 10:30pm, seven days a week.
Events and Meetings
Otium also caters for a wide variety of private events for companies, including annual meetings, sales meetings, and team building. Families can hold wedding and communion receptions, anniversary celebrations and birthdays. The resort staff can help you plan these events.
Fun for the whole family
On site, guests can enjoy the pool, and paddle tennis courts, sunbathing at poolside, and snacks and drinks under the gazebo. It’s also possible to explore the Rioja region on foot or on your bicycle along the roads, and through the vineyards. A unique experience is cycling along the 36-kilometer ‘Green route’ from Haro to Ezcaray that follows an old railroad line.
Experiences
The Natura Resorts team can help guests with a wide range of events, including wine tastings, visits to wineries, gastronomic experiences, and tours, including light aircraft and balloon flights over the region. In addition, the staff can organize bespoke events for families, couples and other groups.
The resort blog Tinta y Taninos (Ink and Tannins) is a guide for prospective guests outlining the wide range of Natura’s services, amenities and experiences.
