Tenuta Le Cave, a reborn treasure

On the rolling hills of Eastern Valpolicella, Tenuta le Cave stands as a quietly dramatic reinterpretation of an Italian country “borgo diffuso" (little scattered village). Winner in spirit of contemporary rural design, the property skilfully blends stone-built tradition with clean, modern volumes: shuttered farmhouses linked by glass corridors, terraces that step down into vineyards, and a low-profile spa pavilion that folds into the landscape. The result is an architecture that respects this land while offering a fresh, light-filled experience for guests
A place reborn

What is now Tenuta le Cave –  Local winner Best Of Wine Tourism Award – category “Architecture&Landscape” – began as a surprising industrial chapter: the estate sits on the site of an old cement quarry whose limestone were quarried to build bridges and structures across Italy — locals even say some blocks reached Venice. Extraction ceased in the early 1940s, leaving a vast hollow in the earth. That “hole” was never filled; over time it became the vineyard’s most precious and protected area. This sheltered basin creates a unique microclimate and nurtures the classic Valpolicella blend – Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella – that, when crafted with sun, patience and time, gives rise to the region’s masterpiece, Amarone.

Wine tasting experience with traditional “cicchetti”

Viticulture remains at the heart of the estate. The wine tasting experience at Tenuta le Cave is intimate and informative – It begins in the vineyards, where guests can see firsthand the practice of regenerative agriculture – a commitment cherished by those who have been envisioning and producing the estate’s wines, branded TASI WINES, for almost 15 years now, and culminates in the small cellar with generous wine glasses matched with traditional “cicchetti” – small bites.
