ICVG Conference – International Council for the Study of Virus of the Grapevine
The conference in Napier (23–27 March) is the 21st conference of the International Council for the Study of Virus and Virus-Like Diseases of the Grapevine commonly known as ICVG.
The scientific program allows scientists and the Aotearoa New Zealand winegrape industry to gain new knowledge from recent research on grapevine viruses and other such as phytoplasmas. On Thursday there is a full day field trip to vineyards that are managing leafroll disease, a field trial of GLRaV-3 variants on four grapevine cultivars and a wine tasting. The conference dinner held in the historic Mission Estate gives an opportunity to relax, enjoy local wine and food and to meet each other on a more social basis.
There are attendees from 14 countries within the continents of Europe and Asia (Hungary, Switzerland, Turkey, France, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Russian Federation), North and South Americas (Canada, USA, Chile) and the Pacific (Japan, Australia and New Zealand).
