Now in its third century, Charles Krug Winery is the quintessential example of a multigenerational winery that fuses history, arts, and culture to craft wines of high acclaim. It is the oldest winery in the Napa Valley and has been owned and operated by the Peter Mondavi, Sr. family for four generations.
Originally built in 1872, the winery is a Registered National Historic Landmark. The Carriage House today functions (in normal times) as a beautiful event space, where arts and culture come together with wine in a celebration of the good life. From comedy nights and family movie nights on the expansive outdoor lawn to world-class musicians, entertainers, poets and artists, events at Charles Krug are always an immersive experience into the culture of Napa Valley. The winery was honored to receive the 2020 Great Wine Capitals Best Of Wine Tourism award in the Arts & Culture category.
Charles Krug has also recently introduced private outdoor cabana wine tasting spaces, where visitors can safely taste wines and enjoy the outdoors. Wood-fired pizza and other Italian specialties to savor are available daily, with advance reservations.
