The freshness, originality and wine tourism innovation of Bodegas Javier San Pedro Ortega has earned this winery the Best Of Wine Tourism award. Javier represents the fifth family generation making their wines from their own vineyards. Their young team seeks to surprise and differentiate themselves for their wines and for their wine tourism proposal.
In 2018 they opened a new winery with a very special, fresh and casual wine bar. As Javier himself says: “There are many hours of effort, doubts, learning, dedication and insomnia behind this place. Many days and nights daydreaming about creating something unique and my own”.
And he adds: “It’s called Calma and it took us a lot of storms to get it”. In addition, each year they create a new wine tourism proposal. Its new 2022 experience follows the motto “Think less. Feel more”.
It is an informal, fun, somewhat transgressive experience, tasting different wines in different spaces, in different formats, with different pairings, simply playing and experimenting. But with a base and depth; with good wines and with the collaboration of the chefs Iñaki Murua and Carolina Sánchez from the Íkaro Restaurant in Logroño, awarded with 1 Michelin Star and 2 Repsol Suns.
