The Domaine du Mont d’Or is a unique terroir!
Ideally located on the southern slope of Montorge hill, at the western entrance to Sion, the Domaine du Mont d’Or is recognised as one of the most prestigious vineyards in Switzerland.
A pioneer in the harvesting of noble grapes, the estate has built an exceptional reputation since 1848, thanks in particular to its Johannisberg and other specialities. Covering a mountainous area of twenty-four hectares, it consists of two hundred and twenty terraced vineyards. Their dry stone walls create a unique landscape, bearing witness to the hard work and expertise of times gone by. It tells the story of a harsh land and the daring men and women who transformed it into a place of energy and productivity.
We practise heroic viticulture, inheriting the manual techniques passed down by our ancestors, which guide each stage of the vineyard’s work throughout the seasons. The fruit of our winegrowers’ labour is magnified in our historic cellars.
