Pulenta Estate Winery

Mendoza | Argentina

The Pulenta Family has been linked to Argentine viticulture for four generations. The children of the winemaker Antonio Pulenta and descendants of Italian immigrants, Eduardo and Hugo Pulenta, gave birth to Pulenta Estate in 2002, bringing experience and the most skilled workforce.

The tradition, knowledge, and experience of the family acquired during 100 years since the arrival of Angelo Polenta y Palmina Spinssanti to Argentina, live today in Pulenta Estate.

Our mission is to produce a limited series of great wines, proudly made in Argentina.

Pulenta Estate – Barrel Room

The winery is located in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, on Route 86. This road, called “Los Cerrillos”, goes through the Uco Valley to Tupungato since old times, and today it is one of the main wine routes of Mendoza.

The farm extends over 135 hectares, elevates at 980 m.a.s.l. and has magnificent views of the Andes mountain range. The Cordón del Plata, with its snow-covered peak of 6000 meters is one of the most impressive mountain formations of the province.

Bodrmida and Yanzón architecture studio designed the winery in 2005. They built it within a program to enhance the landscaping of the farm and refunctionalize and extend the existing building.  The construction is sober and contemporary architecture of minimalist lines. It has simple shapes, but with character and strength. The blues and greys used in its walls, resemble the colours of the Andes Mountain range. Well organized, the producing areas and the ones to receive visitors are dffierent.

The walls finishings vary according to the functional area of the building. The most herarchical spaces are made of concrete. Instead, they used cementitious plasters for the working areas. The tasting room is square concrete room with a pyramidal ceiling and a central skylight.

The garden next to the tourism area and the irrigation reservoir has native and traditional species from Mendoza, giving it a regional identity.

From this spot, elevated on terraces that are one meter over the floor, you can enjoy the best views of the vineyards, which seem to reach the foot of the mountains.

The place is completed with a large house in the north part of the farm, surrounded by old trees and vineyards. It is a traditional rural house that was previously used by the families working in the farm.  The refunctionalized building used for the company’s social meetings,  respects its main architecture.
