UNESCO (United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization) recently added Bilbao to its Creative Cities Network in the ‘Design' category.

This international recognition allows Bilbao to join a select group of global cities recognized for design along with Berlin, Buenos Aires, Beijing, Shanghai, Montreal, Seoul, Nagoya, Kobe, Shenzen, Saint Étienne and Graz.

Other cities joining the Creative Cities Network in the Design category in 2014 are Helsinki (Finland), Torino (Italy), Curitiba (Brazil) and Dundee (Great Britain).

An exceptional harvest for this unique international contest celebrating wineries all over the world for excellence and innovation in welcoming visitors.

The 2015 winners of the Great Wine Capitals' International Best Of Wine Tourism awards were celebrated on November 6,  at Bodega Los Toneles in Mendoza, Argentina.

The Symington family saw two of its wines distinguished: the Dow's 2011 Vintage with 99 points out of 100, distinguished as wine of the year, occupying the 1st position, and the Chryseia 2011 on 3rd with 97 points.

The Quinta do Vale Meão 2011, a wine made by the Olazabal family, stayed on the 4th position, also with 97 points out of 100.

2011 was indeed an exceptional year for the Douro wine.

Porto’s Airport - Francisco Sá Carneiro -  will end 2014 with a new passenger record. After overpassing 6 million passengers in 2011, it expects to reach, three years later, seven million passengers.

The number was announced by the airport’s director Fernando Vieira, at the conference “Tourism 2020”, in Alfandega do Porto. "Until September, we had 5,3 million passengers, which represents an increase of 8,3%, and a load factor of 81%, which also represents an increase of 1,2 ".

Pedro Vivanco, the third generation of a family devoted to Rioja wine and founder of the Dinastía Vivanco Museum of Wine Culture, recently received Spain's 'medalla al Mérito en el Trabajo' (Medal of Merit for Work) for his many years of experience as a winemaker and director of several wineries, as well as a promoter of wine culture.  The government of Spain noted in the awards ceremony that Mr. Vivanco "succeeded in positioning Rioja wines and everything surrounding them in a situation of privilege on an international scale".

19 winners, including 6 Gold awards

During the 12th Night of the Best Of Wine Tourism awards ceremony in Bordeaux, no less than 19 trophies were attributed, including 6 Gold Best Of trophies. The recipients were rewarded for their excellent contributions to wine tourism.

Last Tuesday, on October 9th, at the Winery ViñaMar located in Casablanca Valley, Chile. The Vine Growing Association of Casablanca Valley, Valparaiso municipality and Casablanca municipality celebrated the Best Of Wine Tourism 2015 awards ceremony.

The event was attended by the Valparaiso Mayor Jorge Castro, Mayor of Casablanca Rodrigo Martinez and Mario Agliati President of the Vine Growing Association of Casablanca Valley, who presented the winners of the seven categories of the Best Of Wine Tourism, these awards celebrate innovation and excellence in wine tourism.


Mendoza celebrated the best of the local Wine Tourism.

As Great Wine Capitals, the Best of Mendoza’s Wine Tourism 2015 highlighted and gave value to the provincial enotouristic tourism.

Arts and culture enthusiasts have always known that wine and food may be Napa’s major calling cards, but they’re far from the only enticing reasons to visit the Wine Country.

“We’ve seen a tremendous, very exciting shift in the valley over the last five years toward emphasizing and acknowledging the region’s burgeoning arts scene,” says Brenda Lhormer, co-founder with her husband, Marc, of the Napa Valley Film Festival, which kicks off its fourth annual five-day run on Nov. 12.

From 6 October, Air Europa, an airline belonging to the Spanish company Globalia, starts flying between Madrid and Porto, on planes Embraer 145, with capacity for 50 passengers.

The new route of Air Europa will have 4 daily flights, from Monday to Friday, and two on weekends.

The first flight will take off at 06:40 arriving to Porto at 7:00, local time, departing to Madrid at 7:30 arriving there at 9:40.
