Matthias Junker is the Managing Director of Poppe Reisen, the official destination management organization for the GWC region Mainz-Rheinhessen. Poppe Reisen promotes the city of Mainz and Germany´s largest wine growing region Rheinhessen as an attractive travel destination within Germany and abroad. Matthias was born in Düsseldorf, thus being a beer drinker. But the wine in Mainz and Rheinhessen convinced him to stay ever since from 2005. He is a travel enthusiast and is now developing tours to all Great Wine Capitals, but his heart is in incoming business, arranging programmes into our own Great Wine Capital.
