Thanks to hearty rejuvenation efforts that began in the mid 90s, Bordeaux has reclaimed her former glory and rose from obscurity back to its rightful place as one of Europe’s top destinations...

The survey studies, on a long goal running, how wineries’ performance is correlated with investments in wine tourism, products and services, and marketing strategies as well as with external factors (e.g. being a regional capital).

Pessac Léognan is at once one of the oldest and one of the youngest of the Bordeaux appellations.

One of the youngest as it was officially created in 1987 and yet the oldest as it encompasses what was known as ‘Les Graves de Bordeaux’ the ‘cradle ‘ of fine Bordeaux wine making as we know it today...

May 22, 2015 to May 31, 2015

This major festival focuses on the Garonne River and its estuary, and takes place every other year, alternating with the Bordeaux Wine Festival. Bordeaux, the capital of great wines and fine cuisine in southwest France, will host one of the world's greatest yacht races: the "Solitaire du Figaro Eric Bompard Cachemire" in the setting of the "Bordeaux River Festival". It is a highly significant occasion: for the second time in the race's history, the skippers will leave from the heart of a city.

For 10 days, the Bordeaux waterfront will be swarming with experienced yachtsmen and sailing enthusiasts: excitement and atmosphere guaranteed!

The programme, from 22 to 30 May, includes activities on the river, cruises, exhibitions, dance classes on the quays, concerts and fireworks. The restored three-masted Belem is due to call into port once again, and for the second time, Bordeaux will host the departure of the Solitaire du Figaro Eric Bompard Cachemire, one of the world’s longest yacht races, now in its 46th year, that takes place in stages. In 2013, tens of thousands of people were present for the departure of the 45 yachts competing in the race. A hugely successful event that is back again by popular demand! Be there for the arrival of the boats on 22 May!

Springtime in Bordeaux is the perfect season for wine lovers to discover the very places where their favourite beverage is produced.

Indeed, during the April and May weekends, hundreds of châteaux open their properties to the visitors and offer free tours and tastings. People can go and visit the premises and cellars, understand the wine production process but also meet the winemakers and share their passion.
