The Yeatman

The Yeatman is a luxury wine hotel and spa and offers the best of Portugal: from gastronomy and wine to the art of good hospitality. It is a member of the highly respected chain Relais & Châteaux, with 82 bedrooms and suites, a premium restaurant with one Michelin star led by Chef Ricardo Costa, the largest collection of Portuguese wines in the world, a Vinothérapie® Spa by Caudalie and 11 meetings and events rooms.

Essência do Vinho – Porto

20-23 February, Palácio da Bolsa, Porto

There will be about 3,000 national and international wines from 400 producers available for open tasting, from 20 to 23 February. The 17th edition of Essência do Vinho is back to the imposing Palácio da Bolsa with masterclasses, wine tastings with commentary, including the “Top 10 Portuguese Wines”, previously chosen by a jury associated with the magazine Revista de Vinhos, food and wine pairings and the tasting of delicacies.

Wine lovers love… Wine. Yes, a bit uninspired. Although Portuguese wines are! Portuguese wines are some of the most inspired and awarded wines in the world.

Porto has announced its Best of Wine Tourism 2020 winners, last June, during the closing dinner of the interim meeting of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

Cockburn’s Lodge is the largest wooden Port cellar in the historic area of Vila Nova de Gaia. Holding one of the greatest collections of oak barrels and wooden vats of any Port cellar, this is where we age all our Ports and is the home of Cockburn's Special Reserve. Cockburn’s is one of the few Port producers to maintain a fully equipped and operational cooperage in Vila Nova de Gaia, with a full team of seven coopers. A highlight of the visit to Cockburn’s is the possibility offered to visitors to view the coopers at work, wielding mallets with which they disassemble barrels stave by stave for maintenance and then reassemble them.

The Douro Region dominates the Portuguese winners with 3 producers, W&J Graham’s, Quinta do Noval and Taylor Fladgate, the Vinho Verde region is once again on the list with Quinta de Soalheiro and the Bairrada region with Luis Pato.
