Founded in 2015 by María Laura Ortiz Chiavetta of Winifera Consultants and Estela Perinetti of Las Estelas Wines, CMPV was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to create a space where women in Mendoza’s wine industry could connect, share knowledge, and grow professionally. What began as informal gatherings has evolved into a dynamic network of over 130 women, including oenologists, agronomists, and executives who lead some of the region’s most prestigious wineries.
The anniversary celebration was both a tribute to the club’s journey and a toast to its future. Guests were welcomed at Lamadrid Estate, a winery known for its deep roots in Agrelo’s terroir and its commitment to quality and innovation. The setting provided a perfect backdrop for the evening’s festivities, which included the tasting of wines of its membersm enjoying great food prepared by Lamadrid’s team, live music, and heartfelt speeches.
Among the distinguished attendees were the club’s founders, Ortiz Chiavetta and Perinetti, who reflected on the club’s evolution and the growing visibility of women in the wine sector. “This club was created to make the invisible visible,” said Ortiz Chiavetta. “Behind every great wine, there are women making critical decisions in the vineyard, the cellar, and the boardroom.”

Adding international prestige to the event were representatives from the International Wine Challenge: Chris Ashton, Lee Sharkey, and renowned wine critic Oz Clarke. Their presence underscored the global recognition of Mendoza’s wine scene and the vital role women play in its success. 
As the sun set over the vineyards, the celebration became a vibrant reminder of how far the CMPV has come—and how much further it can go. With a decade of achievements behind them and a strong network ahead, the women of Mendoza’s wine industry are raising their glasses to a future filled with promise, passion, and purpose.
