The firmament above the Bilbao-Rioja area is shining more brightly as three restaurants in Bilbao received a Michelin star at the gala celebration held on November 25 in Málaga. Bakea, La Revelía and Islares joined 20 restaurants in the Bilbao-Rioja area already holding the coveted award from Michelin.
Azurmendi near Bilbao is at the top of the list with three stars, followed by La Rioja’s El Portal del Echaurren and Venta Moncalvillo with two stars. Twenty others hold one star.
The province of Bizkaia is home to 14 Michelin-starred restaurants, while eight are in La Rioja and one in Álava.
