Tres Sabores Winery: Taste Sustainable Terroir of Napa Valley

Being a regional Winner of the Best of Wine Tourism Award in the Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices category, the Tres Sabores estate on Napa Valley Rutherford Bench is home and the backdrop of every stage of owner and winemaker Julie Johnson’s winemaking process.

Founded in 1999, Tres Sabores is Napa Green certified and a California Certified Organic Farm (CCOF). Johnson and her team cultivate Cabernet, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Petit Verdot alongside heritage olives, Meyer lemons, pomegranates and more in their heirloom garden.

The ranch is also home to an ecosystem including bluebirds, red-tail hawks, a herd of sheep, and a flock of Guinea fowls. Native plants and bird boxes are planted around the property to attract birds and beneficial insects and the estate vineyard is largely dry-farmed and minimally tilled, continually building soil quality.

Tres Sabores Winery’s Vineyards

Tres Sabores utilizes the ranch’s ambient yeasts in their fermentation process, making each bottle a genuine expression of their St. Helena home. Tastings feature at least five wines from the portfolio and visitors may make additional arrangements for a vineyard-side picnic gathering under the canopy of the century-old olive grove, food pairings, vineyard & winery immersion experiences, or barrel tastings.
