Excellent vintage for the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises 2023

Over 80,000 visitors flocked to taste the latest vintages from the 250 winegrowers for the 13th edition of the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises. The Office des Vins Vaudois is delighted with the success of this year's event, with ticket sales exceeding those of pre-Covid years.

Bonvillars, Chablais, Côtes de l’Orbe, La Côte, Lavaux or Vully, in each of these Vaud wine-growing regions, the winemakers are all smiles. The 13th edition of the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises lived up to its reputation. Switzerland’s biggest wine event attracted over 80,000 visitors. Vauders, of course, but also enthusiasts from all the other cantons of French-speaking Switzerland, not forgetting those from German-speaking Switzerland, came in droves to prove that cantonal borders are no match for the desire to discover new oenological horizons. This year, over 13,000 tickets were purchased online.

As in the case of Vufflens-le-Château, which brought together several local winemakers in the center of the village, the groupings of winemakers particularly appealed to the public, offering more opportunities for meetings and tastings.

“The Caves Ouvertes vaudoises offer a wonderful opportunity to discover our magnificent canton. As they make their way from cellar to cellar, our visitors not only make wonderful oenological discoveries, they also admire the diversity of our landscapes and taste our local produce. And what better ambassadors than our winemakers to accompany them in this experience?” enthuses Céline Baechler, Project Manager of the Office des Vins Vaudois. “The Caves Ouvertes are an undeniable tourist asset. They help to raise the profile of the canton of Vaud throughout Switzerland and far beyond.”
