Mendoza launched its Best Of Wine Tourism Awards 2026

On Wednesday, May 28th, the Tourism Board of Mendoza (EMETUR) and ProMendoza launched the 2026 edition of the Best of Mendoza's Wine Tourism awards, which rewards the best in wine tourism. This is a very special edition as it marks the 20th Anniversary of Mendoza as member of the global network of the Great Wine Capitals.

Companies related to wine tourism that wish to apply can do so from May 28th to July 14th, through the www.mendoza.tur.ar website. The award ceremony will be held on September 19th, at the Ángel Bustelo Auditorium.

This year the launching ceremony had two venues, one in the Capital City of Mendoza in La Enoteca and the other one at the Alfredo Bufano Congress and Exhibition Center, in San Rafael, a department in the south of the province.  Representatives of various entities related to wine and tourism, businessmen, officials and journalists attended the events.

During the ceremony, the president of EMETUR, Gabriela Testa, emphasized that “when one says that it is part of the Network of the Great Wine Capitals, it is not necessary to explain what is the importance of viticulture and wine tourism in our province. This entity gathers the top 12 wine-producing cities and regions in the world.”

“This contest subjects us to an exercise of reflection on quality guidelines, to be able to transmit it in this contest. This process is enriching in itself. Every year we bring an international gold, which is a great honor for us, because it shows to the world what happens in Mendoza,” added Gabriela Testa.

Finally, Testa stressed that the contest “has to do with Mendoza as a brand, which contains the mountains, the wine, our gastronomy, all the cultural options that we have, which are so rich and so good.”

For her part, Carolina Suárez Garcés, responsible for Institutional Relations of ProMendoza said: “Being part of the network of the Great Wine Capitals is an everyday work that we do in synergy with the Tourism Board. ProMendoza promotes the internationalization of Mendoza and its products and services. We are celebrating 20 years of this State policy that together with the private sector strengthens Mendoza.”

Presentation in the South of Mendoza

Also, during the morning of May 28th, the Vice-president of EMETUR, Cynthia Manggioni, together with the Tourism Director Carlos Weiner and the coordinator of the Congress and Exhibition Center Alfredo Bufano, Cecilia Cannizo, hosted an event to launch the contest in the southern region.

On the occasion, Maggioni commented: “In the south of the province, we have great experiences and a wealth of opportunities to enjoy wine tourism. We have to put ourselves in the global spotlight for wine and tourism to boost this market of international tourists, who need to come to the south of the province in greater numbers.”
