A taste of Verona with pasta, wine and…peaches

Over the past few years, many companies and wineries in Verona have chosen to offer guests different ways through which their products can be experienced, and are more and more committed to promote original events.
THE ART OF PASTA MAKING

Among all the experiences that can be listed, it is worth mentioning Trattoria Caprini, a typical restaurant located in Torbe (Negrar di Valpolicella), in the very heart of the Valpolicella area, where customers can really indulge in the local cuisine. In fact, marking point of this location is the homemade pasta, widely famous to both locals and tourists. Here, with organised cooking shows, customers can have the chance to directly observe the cooker Davide making the real Italian fresh pasta before their eyes, and furthermore, several experiences are arranged for customers, to totally involve them in the tradition of pasta making. Guests can discover a selection of quality ingredients as well as kneading techniques handed down over generations, leading to the production of the “lasagnette”, which make this restaurant a unique and appreciated place. Visitors can eat for lunch or dinner their own-made lasagne paired with some famous wines of Valpolicella.

Moreover, especially during summer months, Trattoria Caprini creates a partnership with one of the most antique wineries of Verona: Albino Armani Viticoltori dal 1607, sited in Dolcè, in Valdadige, between the provinces of Trento and Verona, in Marano di Valpolicella (Verona) and in the province of Treviso. During this event, called “A cielo aperto” (“In the open sky” ed.) guests will be guided through the wine cellar and the vineyard in an engaging tasting, where the famous lasagnette are paired with five Albino Armani signature wines, selected to enhance the flavours of the dishes prepared. The aim of this event is to bring together two of the major cultural features of Italy: pasta and wine.

SPECIAL DINNERS UNDER THE STARS

Moving towards the Garda Lake, another interesting activity is offered by Masi Wine Experience in one of their multiple estates, and precisely, at Tenuta Canova, based in Lazise. Here, visitors can find not only a suggestive vineyard with a wine cellar, but also a Wine Bar, where food and wine lovers can find dishes inspired by the local cuisine. It is from the combination of these peculiarities that in September the Harvest Party takes place at Tenuta Canova, a day dedicated to the harvesting of grapes, guided by expert agronomists, thus allowing guests to get to know the wine in depth. After the harvest and a tour inside the museum, there is a special tasting dinner in which the iconic Masi wines are paired with a menu, in which wine is also the protagonist on the plate.

THE PERFECT MATCH BETWEEN WINE AND LOCAL PEACHES

A unique combination of flavours is also hosted by Azienda Agricola Gianluca Fugolo, located in Pescantina, where the passion and love for the land has been handed down over generations and nowadays, Gianluca Fugolo runs the family farm with the same dedication, cultivating grapes, peaches, and olive trees.

One of their main events takes place during late spring and early summer afternoons, and consists of a walk through the vineyard and the peach orchard, combined with a tasting of the company’s main products: fine wines and delicious fresh peaches. Moreover, during summer evenings, special dinners take place inside the vineyard, surrounded by nature, lights and complemented by soft music. The gastronomic offer is enriched by the tasting of their wines, perfectly combined with the multiple varieties of exquisite peaches grown in the farm.
