Mendoza celebrates Wine and Culture throughout the year

In Mendoza, the talent of its people blends with the local winemaking tradition, providing a broad agenda of cultural and wine related activities each season.

Mendoza is the wine spot of Argentina and it has a true wine culture portrayed in different popular festivals and celebrations that attract thousands of tourists from all over the world.

Just to name a few of them, we can highlight the series of concerts and shows of  ‘Classical Music along the Wine Roads’ and ‘Tango along the Wine Roads’. The first one takes place every year in Easter since more than 20 years and it has become an icon of the cultural tourism in Argentina. The second one takes place in September and it is a true experience for the senses as the visitors can enjoy music and dancing presentation while sipping a great glass of wine.

The main event of the year though, is the National Harvest Festival on the first days of March. Thousands of tourists and locals fill the streets of Mendoza to be part of this Festival, considered one of the most important wine celebrations in the world.

The National Harvest Festival closes a summer agenda with more than a hundred events around wine, which together with nature, adventure and other activities make up a very complete and attractive offer to enjoy the summer in Mendoza.

 

Harvest Festival: the season to enjoy tradition

The time of the National Harvest Festival in Mendoza has become one of the most important seasons for tourism in the province. Everything revolves around this celebration, a great tribute to winegrowing and its workers. The festivities begin in January and last until the first weekend of March, ending with the Central Show that takes place in the “Frank Romero Day” Greek Theater. This open air construction is located at the foothills of the Glory Hill and the show involves more than 1,000 artists on stage. It also requests the participation of hundreds of technicians, producers and assistants. The show culminates with the election of the National Harvest Queen, who will hold her title for one year.

The 2 following days after the Central Show there are repetitions of the show with the replacement of the election with a music concert performed by renowned local and national musicians.

Classical Music along the Wine Roads: an Easter classic

With dozens of concerts throughout the province, this festival pairs classical music and wine in a unique and unforgettable experience.

Classical Music along the Wine Roads  has established itself as one of the most important cultural events in Mendoza. The shows are held in theaters, churches, museums, wineries, parks, nature reserves, gardens and vineyards throughout the province.

The proposal includes free and paid concerts in all regions of Mendoza. Wineries are one of the main stages of the performances and generally also offer exquisite food and wine.

Tango along the Wine Roads: music recognized as intangible heritage asset of humanity

Every year, in the month of September, Mendoza holds an array of Tango concerts in different cultural venues and wineries. The unmissable proposal offers Tango with the unparalleled landscapes of Mendoza as a backdrop.

Over the years, the ‘Tango along the Wine Roads’ festival has positioned Mendoza as a destination of excellence, both in Argentina and abroad, offering a unique experience that combines nature, music, dances, wine and gastronomy.
