The traditional market breakfast in front of the Mainz cathedral or wine tasting stands by the river invite both visitors and natives to enjoy a taste with scenic views. The wine market is another beloved tradition in Mainz. The winemakers present their regional wines, accompanied by a diverse program. The “Weinbörse” (wine fair) or the “Weinforum” (wine forum) are annual highlights for experts.

More than 290 kilometres of hiking trails provide plenty of options for every fitness level. The Hiwwel tours are challenging, yet rewarding and close to nature. The RheinTerrassenWeg on the other hand allows leisurely hikes from wine village to wine village. And the themed hiking trails are a genuine Rheinhessian experience. A variety of cycling paths complement this sporting portfolio.

But there is more to do and experience: Conferencing and working in a vineyard or excellent wine festivals for example. Among the many possibilities are also wine hikes with rented trucks or even an escape room in the midst of a wine cellar!
