The Yeatman

The Yeatman is a luxury wine hotel and spa and offers the best of Portugal: from gastronomy and wine to the art of good hospitality. It is a member of the highly respected chain Relais & Châteaux, with 82 bedrooms and suites, a premium restaurant with one Michelin star led by Chef Ricardo Costa, the largest collection of Portuguese wines in the world, a Vinothérapie® Spa by Caudalie and 11 meetings and events rooms.

It is set within 7 acres of land and gardens in the historic Port wine lodge district with stunning panoramic views over Porto and the river Douro.

He has a degree in computer science and management, but also in oenology, out of passion. He owned several companies linked to financial software and call centres, all of which were very successful. He was, therefore, a very successful businessman, originally from Aveiro, residing in Lisbon.

Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, like all warehouses where Port wines are aged, Churchill's Visitor Centre has what the brand wants to convey: elegance and style.

A glass of Port wine, served in a café that recreates the cosmopolitan and elegant, inspiring and bohemian atmosphere of the 1930s in Paris, expresses the harmonious relationship between art and wine, which stands out from the visit to the exhibition of 100 paintings by Pablo Picasso at Palácio das Artes, located in the capital of Northern Portugal.

At this Quinta, one feels a genuine Douro in which tradition is still what it was!

The Douro was the first demarcated wine region in the world and its landscapes offer such beauty and magic that it is understandable to be refered to as the enchanted valley. Its beauty amazes throughout the year but there is a time period that makes a visit to the valley just perfect. And the time to book it is now.

Quinta da Covela is producing wines with remarkable success, not only in our country but also all over the world. The quinta has also huge fruit trees and a very well-tended vegetable garden. When it comes to food, Diana Oliveira is the one who prepares simple but tasty meals with many of the estate's products, especially the vegetables from the vegetable garden and the various fruits available.

The menu is always changing but there may be pea soup with croutons, ham, charcuterie and cheese board, veal carpaccio with pink pepper and rocket and parmesan salad, filo pastry alheira, sweet-and-sour puff pastry with a Aneto rosé, wild game meat alheira wrapped in puff pastry with applesauce and cashew nuts and a few more starters that can also be used for snacking, which in itself can be a great meal.

SPLIT is a brand belonging to the Vinko company which, in turn, is the result of the partnership between three entrepreneurial friends and a group of companies belonging to a family linked to the wine sector for the past fifteen generations.
