The story of Quanta Terra is as unique as its wines. Founded by winemakers Celso Pereira and Jorge Alves, who first crossed paths while working together in the Oenology Department at Caves Transmontanas, this winery has come a long way since its inception as a vague idea.

When the time came to choose between two properties that met their standards, a coin toss was used to decide. Ultimately, they landed on both heads and tails, but the selected property – Quinta do Tralhão – became the pride of the winery and the source of its exceptional wines. The winery, with an average elevation of 215m and southwest exposure, had a total area of 30 hectares at the time, with 12 hectares devoted to vines that had been growing for more than two decades.
