Great Wine Capitals announce recipients of 2024/2025 Research Grant
Building on the success of its inaugural year, the Great Wine Capitals Global Network is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2024/2025 Research Grant. This initiative continues to promote excellence and innovation in wine tourism by supporting impactful research in this dynamic sector. With a focus on fostering academic collaboration among the 12 distinguished wine capitals, the GWC Research Grant encourages projects that can enhance and expand wine tourism globally.
Verde Sentido Presented International Conference “Wine Tourism With A Green Sense – Heritage, Communication, And Innovation”
The Associação de Municípios do Douro e Tâmega (The Association of Douro and Tâmega Municipalities), with the Associação Empresarial de Amarante (Business Association of Amarante), within the scope of their Wine Tourism project “Verde Sentido,” will host a conference in Amarante on October 3rd and 4th under the auspices of the international network “Great Wine Capitals”.
The Verde Sentido International Wine Tourism Conference will have the seal of approval of the Great Wine Capitals.
The Association of Municipalities of Douro and Tâmega and the Business Association of Amarante, as part of their “Verde Sentido” wine tourism project, are holding a conference in Amarante (northern Portugal) on 3 and 4 October, which has been awarded the seal of approval of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

The Institute of Masters of Wine announces South Australia as the host of the 11th international symposium
After an incredible four days of tasting, engaging debate and insight from some of the brightest minds in the industry, The Institute of Masters of Wine (IMW) concluded the 10th international symposium by announcing Adelaide as the next host region for the event, with the symposium heading to South Australia from the 12-15 November 2026.
