The Bilbao-Rioja Committee of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network, presided over by Juan Mª Sáenz de Buruaga, has opened the process of receiving applications from candidates for the 2024 Bilbao-Rioja Best Of Wine Tourism Awards.
Applications to be received until June 15, 2023. The seven areas of activity covered by the Best Of Wine Tourism Awards are:
- Accommodation
- Restaurant
- Architecture, Parks and Gardens
- Art and Culture
- Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences
- Wine Tourism Services
- Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices
A professional jury made up of wine tourism experts and journalists will evaluate the best candidates and award outstanding projects that promote wine tourism in an original, effective, and innovative manner.
Bilbao’s 2023 Best Of Wine Tourism Award winners were wineries: Marqués de Murrieta (which also received an International Best Of Award), Mayor de Migueloa, Bodegas Beronia, and Javier San Pedro Ortega; Restaurants Aitor Esnal and El Puntido; Echapresto Eventos and Hotel Santa María Briones.
Vintae Wine Fest received an special mention of the jury.
The winners of the 2024 Bilbao-Rioja Best Of Wine Tourism Awards will compete for the International Best Of Wine Tourism Awards that will be announced during the Annual Conference of the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in October in Lausanne, Switzerland.
